Itinerary
DAY 1
- Begin early to make the most of your adventure. Pack essentials like water, snacks, comfortable shoes, and a light jacket.
- Drive to Wahkhen Village, A scenic 2–2.5 hour drive through the East Khasi Hills, passing pine forests and local hamlets.
- We Begin the Bamboo Trek with a hike of the trail that is a 3.5 km round-trip trail built entirely from bamboo.
- Witness the legendary U Mawryngkhang rock viewpoint.
- Return to the village and relax. Rest near the river or dip into the natural pool.
- Visit Wahkhen’s School of Traditional Music named Siengriti Wahkhen.
- Enjoy a local Khasi lunch, a simple, flavorful meal cooked by villagers.
- Drive back to Shillong.
- A calm return journey through the hills, arriving back in the city by evening, to enjoy some traditional rock and roll in the rock capital of India.
