Itinerary

DAY 1

  • Start your day with morning tea and breakfast in Shillong, gearing up for a wild monsoon escape.
  • Drive for approximately 2 hours to the starting point of a scenic hike (40–60 minutes) that leads to Pdem Falls—a powerful, high-drop waterfall that thunders down into a serene natural basin. Hidden deep in the forest, this fall offers a raw and unfiltered connection with nature.
  • Spend as much time as you like relaxing by the falls and soaking in the sights and sounds of the monsoon forest.
  • Hike back at your own pace and continue with a short drive (about 30 minutes) to visit either Synrangkhit Falls or Wahrashi Falls, both dramatic and forceful in the rainy season. (Only one of these can be comfortably combined with Pdem Falls in a single day.)
  • Return to Shillong by evening. Unwind with our handpicked recommendations for local cafés, pubs, and markets to experience the city’s evening charm.

FAQs

It’s a moderate 40–60 minute hike through forest trails—slightly slippery during monsoons but totally doable with good shoes and a steady pace. It’s not a race—we take it slow, enjoy the mist, and let nature lead the way.

Oh, definitely. This is a monsoon waterfall adventure, after all! Expect spray, mist, and the occasional downpour. Bring a light rain jacket, quick-dry clothes, and waterproof protection for your electronics. Bonus: getting drenched just makes it more fun.

We’d say it’s best for teenagers and adults with a fair level of fitness. The trail can be slippery and steep in parts, especially post-rain. Not ideal for toddlers or elderly travelers unless they’re seasoned hikers.

It depends on the rainfall, road conditions, and group vibe that day. Both are stunning in their own way, and we choose the one that's safest and most dramatic at the time. Think of it as a beautiful surprise either way.

Yes! You’ll have a friendly local guide who knows the trails, the stories, and the safest paths. They’ll lead the hike, manage timings, and throw in a few hidden gems along the way.
