Itinerary
DAY 1
- Meet your ED Pilot at Guwahati Airport as per your arrival time. Based on your schedule, our team will recommend things to do in Guwahati—whether it’s a quick cultural stop, café break, or a riverfront stroll.
- Begin your drive to Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary, located just 1.5 hours away. Often called “Mini Kaziranga,” Pobitora boasts the highest density of One-Horned Rhinoceroses in the world—offering a much better chance of sightings compared to Kaziranga, especially in a shorter visit.
- Check into your accommodation near the sanctuary and spend the evening at leisure, gearing up for your safari experience the next morning.
DAY 2
- Start your day with a safari at Pobitora—choose between the gentle sway of an elephant or the steady ride of a jeep—for a chance to spot the rare One-Horned Rhino. For those who wish, a peaceful boat ride through the Brahmaputra backwaters offers a chance to spot river dolphins in the morning light.
- After breakfast, begin the scenic drive toward Cherrapunjee. Pause briefly at the tranquil Umiam Lake, and maybe pick up some fresh pineapples from a roadside stall along the way.
- Lunch will be en route or in Shillong, depending on your journey’s rhythm. If time allows, stop at a hidden viewpoint to catch the sun dipping behind the hills.
- Arrive in Cherrapunjee by evening and settle in. The night is yours to relax.
DAY 3
- We kickstart our Meghalaya winter group trip by joining our local expert to explore handpicked trails featuring waterfalls, caves, natural pools, and those iconic living root bridges.
- We’ll enjoy a picnic and a refreshing swim at secret spots known only to locals—perfect for relaxing and soaking in nature.
- As the sun sets, we’ll head to one of our favorite viewpoints to watch the sky light up in stunning colors.
- Evening is yours to relax however you like—whether it’s by a bonfire, jamming with new friends, or simply unwinding under the stars.
DAY 4
- Today, set out on a guided hike to some of Cherrapunjee’s best-kept secrets, led by our local experts. Discover secluded waterfalls, serene natural pools, and lesser-known root bridges tucked away from the usual trails.
- This offbeat adventure offers a chance to experience Meghalaya’s raw natural beauty, far from the crowds. For those looking to enhance the experience, we can also organize a scenic luxury picnic in the wilderness (available as an optional add-on).
DAY 5
- Today,we explore one of the highlights of our Meghalaya group tour, walking through villages of Meghalaya and living root bridges—natural wonders grown over generations, each telling stories as old as the tribes of these hills.
- Join our local expert on an offbeat trail to uncover 3-4 of these stunning bridges and a curated walk in the cleanest village of Asia.
- Savor a curated forest lunch, unwind and meditate to the sounds of the forest if you will.
- Drive to Shnongpdeng village in Dawki for a night of camping by the river.
- Enjoy bonfire and barbeque (on request) at night.
- Wrap up the day with happy hearts, unforgettable music, and a cozy stay for the night. Evening free to chill.
Day 6
- Today is a day filled with riverside adventure. The morning starts with boating and swimming in crystal-clear waters, followed by a scenic hike along the river to a peaceful spot away from the crowds – Amkoi. There, you can unwind on massive rocks, take a dip, or jump from a cliff into the river if you’re feeling adventurous.
- Head to Jowai for the night, spend it at leisure, singing and dancing around the fire.
Day 7
- Today we explore some stunning waterfalls in the Jaintia hills region and head to Shillong in the second half.
- A relaxed evening at a local pub, café, or restaurant, of your choice. – Our best recommnedations to be given.
- Since Shillong is known as the Rock Capital of India, we will put the last night of our Megalaya group tour to good use and and explore the bars and restaurants of Shillong and hopefully catch some live music.
Day 8
- As this Meghalaya group tour comes to an end, we bid you goodbye with sunrise views at Laitlum Canyons, followed by breakfast. We then head to Guwahati airport for drop-off.
