Your city – Dimapur – Kigwema
Tales of Nagaland will begin in the quaint Capital town of Kohima where Team ED will host you on your first day of Nagaland group trip. We will walk in the local market, chase sunset, stay with the local family, eat lip smacking home cooked local food and break the ice with fellow travellers and our hosts around bonfire. Did we mention Rice beer and ‘lal cha’?
Kigwema – Khonoma – Dzüleke – Kigwema
Today Team ED will take you on a curated walk in the first green village of Asia (more on that later), Khonoma. During the walk there will be interactions and storytelling to help us understand the land, the culture, history, architecture, food, lifestyle, superstitions better. Anything that makes you curious about the Nagas. After this we take a quick stroll in a very picturesque neighbouring remote village called Dzüleke. This area practices some of the most innovative strategies for conservation, distribution of resources and sustainability.
Kigwema – Dzukou
Today is about walking slowly amidst a very unique and beautiful landscape of Dzukou Valley, camping, bonfires and stargazing. It is a day to indulge in the nature’s masterpiece, push ourselves a little out of the comfort zone, watch the most beautiful sunset, sleep under the milky way of stars, campfire conversations, smell of firewood, books, wine, conversations and photography.
Dzukou – Kigwema – Dimapur
Exploring the vastness and beauty of the valley. Go for a morning walk around the valley, pass through gushing streams, a giant cross, natural cave like formation etc. Spend the first half of the day exploring the valley and the second half of the day exploring local cafes, pubs or restaurants in the bustling little town of Dimapur
Dimapur Airport – Fly back home
Today marks the end of our Tales from Nagaland – the Kohima Edition journey. As we bid goodbye to all our new friends, we promise to be back with more Tales from different parts of Nagaland.
